
“Get mad or get glad.”
That’s what my grandmother used to say.
No explanation. No justification. Just that.
She wasn’t the type to sit you down and soften life’s edges for you. She knew what she knew, and that was enough. If you were old enough to complain, you were old enough to decide how you were going to meet the moment.
And that was the point, wasn’t it?
Life was never going to ask how you’d like it to go. It was just going to happen. No regard for your plans. No concern for your feelings. The world moves. The waves come in. The unexpected interrupts. And there you are, standing in the middle of it, left with the only choice that ever really mattered…
Are you going to make it harder on yourself, or are you going to make it easier?
Because that’s the real question. Not whether things should be different. Not whether life is fair. Not whether you deserve what’s happening.
