Welcome to Seeing One’s True Essence
This isn’t just a newsletter — it’s an invitation to slow down and return to what’s true.
An invitation to pause for a moment. To sit with the thoughts that rarely get your full attention. To look a little deeper into what you believe about yourself, others, and the way you experience the world.
We live most of our lives on the surface — caught between deadlines, expectations, and the need to keep moving forward. But beneath all of that, there’s something quieter. Something constant. A foundation that doesn’t demand your attention but shapes every decision you make, every relationship you build, and every moment you experience.
Seeing One’s True Essence is about returning to that foundation. Not to provide answers, and certainly not to offer quick fixes — but to create space for reflection. Space to remember who you are beneath the layers of achievement, pressure, and expectation. I want this to feel like a sanctuary for those seeking answers.
This isn’t about self-improvement or personal branding. It’s about the kind of clarity that doesn’t come from doing more but from seeing more — within yourself and the life you’re already living.
Every piece I write is an inquiry. A reflection. A question worth considering. Some will strike a chord immediately; others might linger quietly in the background, reshaping something you didn’t even realize needed shifting.
There’s no promise of a clear path forward here. Just an honest exploration of what it means to be human — to lead, to learn, and to grow in ways that matter.
You’ll usually find something new here on Sundays — a reflection, a perspective, a bit of space to breathe as the week begins. Some weeks I take things slower, and I might post a few days late — or skip a week altogether. If that happens, thanks in advance for your patience — I’ll be back soon.
Who I Am & Why I Write This
I’m Cam.
Before I ever worked alongside founders, CEOs, and executives as an integrator, strategic partner and confidential advisor — before strategy, systems, or leadership — I was just a kid trying to make sense of the world around me.
I come from humble beginnings. I’m the middle child of three, raised by parents who were doing their best while still learning how to raise themselves. It wasn’t always easy. When you grow up surrounded by people figuring life out as they go, you learn early how to navigate complexity on your own.
Most of what I write about now, I had to learn the hard way. The lessons that shaped me didn’t come from authority figures or handbooks — they came from experience. From missteps, moments of solitude, and the quiet realization that if I didn’t figure things out for myself, no one was going to do it for me.
But I wasn’t completely alone. I’m grateful for the steady presence of my grandmother, for the unexpected guides who showed up when I needed them most, and for my wife — whose love, partnership, and unwavering support have helped me become the man I am today.
I’m not here as someone who claims to have it all figured out. I’m here as a man who’s done — and continues to do — the work of becoming whole, integrated, and well-rounded. Someone who’s learned, often through trial and error, what it means to lead not just others but myself.
That journey taught me something leadership books rarely mention: Leadership isn’t just about being decisive or driving results — it’s about who you are when no one’s watching.
It’s about the choices you make in silence. The moments when there’s no applause, no validation — just you, your thoughts, and the quiet responsibility of leading something that truly matters.
That’s the part of leadership not many talk about in boardrooms or highlight in success stories. Yet, it’s the foundation of every meaningful decision and every real breakthrough.
Seeing One’s True Essence isn’t an extension of my professional work — it’s the reason behind it.
Because beneath every strategy and system, there’s a person. And the way that person thinks, feels, and sees — that’s what ultimately shapes the outcomes they create.
I don’t write from theory. I write from lived experience — my own, and the lessons I’ve witnessed in the lives of those I’ve worked with. This isn’t about offering easy answers or quick fixes. It’s about asking the questions that actually matter. The ones that stay with you long after the conversation ends.
My purpose in sharing this work is simple: to offer guidance for those navigating complexity — especially for those who’ve had to figure it out on their own.
I write for the leaders carrying responsibility no one else sees. For those questioning old assumptions, seeking clarity, or standing at a crossroads where the next step isn’t clear.
And I write for anyone ready to explore the deeper layers of what it means to be human — to lead, to grow, and to create from a place of presence and integrity.
A Space for Growth, Change, and Evolution
This space, like me, will evolve over time.
My thoughts, reflections, and perspectives will shift as I do — growing with new experiences, challenges, and lessons learned along the way. What I write today may deepen, expand, or change tomorrow. That’s part of the process.
This isn’t meant to be a fixed philosophy, but an ongoing exploration of what it means to lead, live, and grow with clarity, depth, and presence.
If that journey resonates with you, I’m glad you’re here to witness it unfold.
If You’d Like to Connect
If you feel drawn to connect, I welcome genuine conversations. No expectations, no agenda — just space for honest reflection and meaningful exchange.
You can connect with me directly through my website, on Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
If, over time, it feels like working together could be the next step, that will unfold naturally. For now, if you’re curious, I invite you to reach out and say hello.
Where to Begin
If you’re new here, start with one of these reflections:
Kensho: A Mirror to the Self: Seeing clearly is an act of transformation, whether it’s in business, relationships, or the self.
A Reflection of God → What if you were never incomplete? What if everything you were seeking was already within you?
Be at Ease → On showing up without pretense, without the need to prove, and simply allowing yourself to be.
Growing Up → What it means to become, not just age.
Life is a Mirror → The world reflects back what we carry within.
The Space Between Words → The wisdom found in silence.
Trust Yourself: Encourages confidence in navigating uncertainty.
I hope this space offers what you didn’t know you were seeking.
Subscribe to continue the conversation.
Take care,
Cam
“For when a man no longer confuses himself with the definition of himself that others have given him, he is at once universal and unique. He is universal by virtue of the inseparability of his organism from the cosmos.”
